Part one:
1.  Read pages 350-357 in the online Western World textbook.  It is the section titled Science and Exploration.  CHALLENGE:  To better understand the reasons for exploration and the mind-frame of Europe prior to the the age of discovery, you can also read pages 344-349 (Renaissance/Reformation)
2.  Respond to one of the teacher questions from the list below.  (GRADE = B)
2.  Respond to two of the teacher questions from the list below.  (GRADE=A)
3.  State what number question you are addressing.
4.  Write at least five compete sentences for full credit.  Spelling, capitalization and punctuation will be scored.
5.  Sign you first name and first initial of your last name.

Part two:
1.  Respond to a classmate at least one time using complete sentences.  State the first name of the student you are addressing.
2.  Sign your name as above.

Part three:

                                    Respond to at least ONE question:

Question # 1:  What was life like in Europe in the 1400 and 1500s?  What was happening? 

Question # 2:  What were some factors that led Europeans to launch voyages of discovery?

Question # 3:  What challenges do you think these explorers faced?  What factors made it difficult to circumnavigate the world for the first time?

Question # 4:  What were some of the effects of European exploration?

Question # 5:  What about this time period interests you and why?
